Welcome to the SKYPHOTO CCD Imaging Website
by Michael Breite
The main observatory is located in the southern suburbia of Erkelenz, Germany, with some 45.000 people (382 persons/km²). The visual limiting magnitude is usually between 4.5-5, in rare good nights up to 5.5. The seeing is quite acceptable around/better than 2 arcseconds FWHM. The magnificent dynamic range of the 16bit cooled CCD cameras and new image processing technology have allowed me to shoot these deep sky images. I would like to present a selection of my best astronomical images.
Please enjoy the images!
